SENIOR DRUPAL / PHP ENGINEER
You will build and look after the platform schools run their day on — the student record, the modules that read from it, and the integrations around them.
ABOUT
THE ROLE.
Skoolarz is built on Drupal and PHP, and the hard problems are rarely framework problems. They are data problems: a record that has to mean the same thing to attendance, grading and finance, an import that must not create a duplicate parent, a report that has to be right the first time a bursar opens it. You will own features from the first conversation with a school to the fix that ships the week after.
WHAT YOU
WILL DO.
- Design and build modules on top of the shared student record, from the data model to the screen a registrar uses.
- Keep the platform healthy: performance, upgrades, security patches and the deployment pipeline.
- Work directly with schools during onboarding, so you see how what you built is actually used.
- Review code and pair with the rest of the team, and help set the engineering standards we hold ourselves to.
WHAT YOU
WILL BRING.
- Five or more years of PHP, with at least three on Drupal 9 or later.
- Solid relational data modelling — you can explain why a schema is shaped the way it is.
- Experience shipping to production and supporting what you shipped.
- Clear written English; Arabic is a strong plus.
Nice to have: Symfony components, custom Layout Builder work, bilingual (RTL) interfaces, or experience in education or finance software.
